Happened to me,
just wait a while. This means that it's not responding on server side, not your side.
There's not a lot you can do besides clear your cache just incase or check your Internet connection. Otherwise, just wait.

Try clearing your history, and turning off the computer for a min, then turn it back on. If that don't work....o-o

When it gives you that message after pressing sign in, that means it's having trouble connecting to the chit chat city server. since matt set it up so that you sign in with your chit chat city account, chit chat city needs to be up and running in order for you to access it. just wait until ccc is back up and it will be fine. ^-^
